Mind your beeswax (wraps).

Lily Bee Wraps, plastic wrap replacements

Lily Bee Wraps, plastic wrap replacements

Plastic wrap, shrink wrap, saran wrap, screw that. These here little reusable beeswax wraps are a great alternative to the above. Heck, they’re better than the above. I’ll never go back after I use up the family size saran wrap box I have had for seven years. They’re reusable and although initially a tad pricey, they make up for it with their endless uses. They aren’t as annoying as plastic wrap with it’s clinging to itself and it’s hard to cut-ness. AND they are biodegradable AND they keep your food fresh longer. Real talk tho, they are stiff the first few uses but you merely wrap the item you intend to save and warm the wrap with your hands. Because it’s coated in beeswax that softens with your mere warm mortal touch!

Oh, and they come in different sizes.

SEE. After use you have clean it with non-toxic dish soap and water and hang it to dry. This part is a bit of a pain but we’ll just glaze over that. You’ll get use to it. The bright and colorful patterns make it almost impossible to forget about that half a tomato you left in the fridge, therefore less food waste! Throw that crap on a sandwich or something. Live your life.

I have no scientific evidence other than what I witnessed but I put this half lime (below) in the fridge on Thursday and it looks/tastes good 5 days later. I’ve also witnessed this with cucumbers which I find to get funky (otherwise) real quick.
