Recycling batteries—It’s as riveting as it sounds.

Raise your hand if you thought it was illegal to throw out single-use/rechargeable batteries but did it anyway! *RAISES BOTH HANDS*
As it turns out it is only illegal in California. You shouldn’t be throwing them out anyway, because, you know, the Earth and shit. But do not fear as it is way easier than you/I thought to recycle them. Below are 3 ways.

• Most cities/towns have hazardous waste days where you can drop your batteries off (single and rechargeable). Check your city/town website. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my town has a drop off center that accepts batteries along with other electronics. Although it wasn’t exactly easy to find.

Tip: In the future, buy rechargeable batteries. They last longer (ob-v) and are accepted at most of the drop off locations noted in the last link above. They are a PITA™ (pain in the ass) but Dandelions will sway as you walk by they will be so impressed with your effort.
